Morning friends! A little something to cure those post-Superbowl Monday Morning Blues...
When you think of an ugly duckling, smokin' hot retro lingerie is not usually the first thing to come to mind....but it should be! When I spotted Ugly Duckling on Etsy last week I knew I had to share. Despite the name, Gal Angel's retro designs are anything but ugly. She also does retro-inspired swimwear, but I chose to feature the lingerie today because I am equally smitten with the charming illustrations she has incorporated into her photos. How cute are these??? Turns out, they are the work of her friend and very talented illustrator, Hagar Wertheim, who doodles pretty much all of the images in her delightful blog, 1 Hug A Day.
I am loving the blue set above as a perfect "something blue" for a vintage or retro bride. And the swimwear is definitely honeymoon worthy...scroll down for a sneak peek at the end of the post. All of the pieces look comfy and flattering to a wide variety of body types...just be sure to allow time for delivery, as the pieces are all shipping from Tel Aviv!

I stumbled across this dreamy blue dress while surfing on Pinterest and had to track back through several Tubmlr blogs before I finally found the original source...whoa! Jackpot! This was part of an entirely dreamy inspiration spread on Love My Dress that cleverly spans a 60's lovestory between a socialite and her rockstar husband. I'll share a few more photos as a teaser, but you should really check out the whole post for the rest of the story and all the eye candy. But first, what do you think of this blue wedding dress?? I know, I'm obsessed with blue wedding dresses...I love them.
And let's talk about this tres chic petite gold cake...I love it! Possibly my new favorite cake....especially with the fresh flowers and leaves.

These seriously gorgeous little works of art are printed on edible rice paper with 100% FDA approved edible ink. Now you can have your cake topper and eat it too! (Sorry...couldn't resist.) Seriously drooling over this chandelier. How gorgeous is this?? When I first spotted it on Vicki Horton's chandelier board on Pinterest, I knew right away that I wanted to feature it on my blog. I love the idea of embracing blue decor as a fresh and modern approach to the time honored tradition of having "something blue" for the bride. (And by the way, if you like chandeliers, you should definitely check out Vicki's pin board for some major eye candy.)
Now, of course, I realize that not everyone has access to a light fixture like this one. But, if you are a DIY-er, here are a few options you can try to make yourself...

Oh, how I love an unusual wedding dress...and this one fits the bill. It's made of seersucker! How cute for a summer or beach wedding. And it's light enough that it still looks very bridal and not at all costume-y. What do you think? Would you wear a blue wedding dress? Or a seersucker one?

I came across this dress on Instructables yesterday and WOW! I am so impressed! This daring bride found her canvas - a plain white vintage wedding dress - and painted it herself! (Ok, that is three exclaimation points in a row, so I need to calm down.)
But seriously, this dress is amazing and the bride posted a tutorial, so anyone can do this. If you are looking for a truly unique way to personalize your wedding dress - or any dress - this is something to check out. Added bonus, she got her something old and something blue in one fell swoop.
