Last week I found myself standing in the street watching a friend drive off with my little girl...in her first-ever carpool...on her way to big-girl all-day camp. My husband had left earlier that morning for a two-week business trip and I was left standing in the street alone. I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself. For the first time in six years, I had the house to myself for more than a few hours. I had expected to be thrilled, but was surprised to experience a moment of sadness. I felt a little less needed than I had the day before. With a tear in my eye I looked back at the house and after a moment of self-pity, I realized...this is great! I can get so much done!
So into my office I went to purge, reorganize and reaquaint myself with my supplies. I've been taking a break from my Etsy wedding business for the better part of the last two years, but am excited to be relaunching this fall when my little one starts kindergarten.
After years of collecting supplies and a brief stint in the trash fashion world, my space had become so cluttered, I couldn't stand it. Without mercy, I tossed, recycled, donated and pawned stuff off on friends. A week later, I'm loving my space and am more excited than ever to get back to work!
But before I do, here's a virtual tour and a sneak peek at some of my stash...while it's still looking clean and fresh...not sure how long this will last!
So, that's my space. What do you think? Anyone want to place bets on how long I'll be able to keep it clean? Next project is fine-tuning my assortment plan and updating my marketing materials. I'll post pics of new projects as I get them going. I hope you'll check back soon...45 days till relaunch! You can follow along with me at any of the links below...
