Happy New Year to all of my Jewish friends! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday full of sweetness. If you are anything like me, you often mean to do things...like send out cards...but wait too long and before you know it, you've missed your window. That's where the internet becomes a last minute life saver!
Case in point, I just did a lovely post about handmade holiday cards for Rosh Hashanah, but let's be real...the holiday has begun and I haven't even started making the cards yet...which means that as usual, my cards will be late.
Imagine how excited I was to recently discover an amazing website that offers a huge assortment of vintage Rosh Hashanah e-cards. I had no idea that vintage Rosh Hashanah cards even existed. I've collected Victorian postcards for years and have never come across a single one for a Jewish holiday.
Part of The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life, the collection spans the 1800's through the 1980's. All you need to do to send a card is pick one you like and fill out the form under the photo. Your holiday greeting will be instantly beamed across the itnernet and no one will be the wiser that you waited until the last minute.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the collection...
Needless to say, I will be sending out a few of these today. Have you sent yours yet? Well, what are you waiting for? Go send some cards!
XOXO, Cindi
