Friday night, my husband came home from work and suggested we go to Burgermaster for dinner. This seemed like an odd request from a man who is on a strict no-cholesterol diet, but we hadn't been there in ages, so I was totally game. Who doesn't love Burgermaster?? Turned out, he had spotted the Cascade Kombis Vintage VW Meet going on in the parking lot. A-ha!
We piled into our own VW wagon and headed to Burgermaster. I couldn't have been more surprised or pleased at what awaited us. It was like we had walked into a "Cars" movie...
There were more VW Bugs and vans in one place than I had ever seen before and each one was cooler than the next. Growing up, I lusted after my next door neighbor's vintage black convertible VW bug, so seeing all these vintage bugs in one place was making my heart sing! Not to mention all the buses. I really like this wind-up model...

Had to laugh at this one...came from one of my old stomping grounds on the east coast...it's been a long time since I partied at Fell's Point.
After chowing down on lower-cholesterol Chickenmaster sandwiches we noticed a sign on the way out that said there was going to be an even bigger VW show and swap meet on Saturday...apparently, this was just the pre-show "Burger Meat." And the Saturday show was being held at the same time and place as the NW Solar Fest...serendipity! We were so there! (I'll talk solar in another post.)
