Woo Hoo! Today is my 7th wedding anniversary and here is how I feel about it...
It's so hard to believe how fast seven years has flown by. A lot has happened since that magical day, but we still don't have a wedding photo album because our photographer, who will remain nameless, went bankrupt and never completed our pre-paid wedding albums. After a good fight, we finally got custody of our negatives, but whew, what a bummer. Now I just need to find a photographer who will print them and assemble some albums for us, but that's another story. Maybe for our 10th??
I shared all the glamour shots from our wedding a few years ago... save-the-dates, invitations and our wedding... so today, I thought it would be fun to share a side of our wedding that rarely gets discussed on wedding blogs...the stuff that goes wrong. Cause, it can and it will. But it's not the end of the world. If, at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, nothing else matters. Our wedding had it's share of snags...some big, some small, some I can't talk about here...but it was still the best day of our lives. Well, second only to the birth of our wee one 9 months later! Enjoy these awful pics and remember...don't sweat the small stuff!
How's this for a glamorous wedding dress photo?? Mine was two pieces so this is the skirt hanging from the dropped ceiling in my parent's basement...draped over a bar stool. Classy, eh? It looks like some kind of horse costume to me. So much for the glamour shot in the window or on the antique armoire.
And let's not forget the top...love that sexy dry cleaning bag!
Here I am trying (to no avail) to pin my dad's boutonniere on...impossible.
No, that's not my uncle helping out...that would be the limo driver finally getting my dad's boutonniere in place.
As for my gorgeous French bustle...well, that was trickier than we thought it would be...that's my maid of honor all up in my skirt cursing as we all stand around drinking wine waiting for her. I think she was cursing because she couldn't drink wine and bustle at the same time...
Here's a close-up in case you missed it. Good thing I'm not shy!
And this was the part where my heel got stuck in an air vent in the floor and I actually pulled the vent out with my shoe...notice my sad little bustle dragging on the floor... ;)
This is my beautiful twinkling wedding cake that was supposed to have simple white roses on it, but somehow ended up with all those alstroemerias....we only had roses at our wedding, no other flowers, so no idea where those came from. I'm actually still annoyed by this one...LOL.
And here we are at the end of the night looking smug as bugs, happy as clams, eating our cake...the very last two people to leave. Notice the feathers all over the floor...we're pretty sure our venue banned feather boas after our wedding!
So, you see...don't sweat the small stuff. Stop to look around and really enjoy your day...it will be magical no matter what! And when you look back on it 7 years later, it won't matter anymore anyway...mostly. LOL
Happy Anniversary to my wonderful hubby! I would do it all over again in a heart beat...alstroemerias and all. XOXO, Cindi
