Today I thought I'd share some more of this year's Halloween party inspiration. As I mentioned in my last party post, dark food is driving the theme of the party this year. This post is all about the dark decor to match. I'm in love with the colors, design details and sumptuous photos in the photo sets below. Most of these inspiration boards are from weddings, so if you're not getting married or planning a wedding, ignore the wedding dresses...although a haunted wedding would be a cool party theme too. ;)
As you can probably guess, I'm going for a dark sophisticated glam look with spooky details. Deep purple, blood red, black and metallic accents are the colors of the night. Old books, silver platters, black wreaths, ravens, skulls and spiders are my motifs. I'm hoping to achieve "spooky" in an unexpected way by sneaking in creepy vignettes and clever lighting...we'll see how it turns out.

That's all for now...hope you enjoyed! I've been busy scouring thrift shops for props, so I'll certainly share those as the party get closer and I'll be posting a tutorial later this week for a wreath that I made. What are you doing for Halloween this year?

Gothic wall decor, discover that gothic style was initially concerned with bringing light and color into the gloomy Medieval spaces of its heyday.

This one's really one-of-a-kind wedding theme. Who would have thought that creepy theme such as this would be suitable for wedding occasion, well, this one proves its worth, why not, eh? This theme would be best done on night weddings and over a full moon by the forest- mystical, weird but romantic.

Cindi, do you happen to know the name of that flower in the very first collage picture of the blog? It's the 2nd picture. I like that for a bouquet for my bridesmaids!

I have a question about the mason jar/spider web lanterns. Do they get hot at all from the LED, any fire concern?

I am helping a very dear friend of mine plan a spooky/gothglam/hallowedding..and i would love to know where you dug up these inspiration boards, or what kind of search words you used in researching this. I have looked all over and I know the information is out there, but I can't seem to find it. i don't want to steal your ideas, but any kind of help in realizing her dream would be forever appreciated!

Ally, I think I just did a basic image search...try using "Halloween Wedding Inspiration Boards" or "Goth Wedding Inspiration." I've also included sources at the bottom of my post for the boards I used. You might also try Pinterest.com...it's an amazing site for bookmarking images. Feel free to take away any of the ideas from my post that you can use! :)
